Both of the College’s Reception Rooms, the Piano Lounge and the Billiards Room, are available for event venue bookings. The Piano Lounge and Billiards Room are adjoining rooms on the first floor of Graham House.
The Piano Lounge is an ideal location for more intimate or informal gatherings: fireside readings or talks, small breakout sessions, and receptions. The room has a grand piano available for use, serving counter space, and seating areas around the fireplace and window alcove. Additional seating can be made available for up to 40-50 people.
The Billiards Room connects to the Piano Lounge and includes access to a pool table and additional seating area. The William C. Gibson Room is
accessed through the Billiards Room, and is available as a separate booking. When the Piano Lounge and William C. Gibson Room are booked together, the Billiards Room between them must be booked as well.
The two Reception Rooms together can accommodate up to 150 people for a stand-up reception with limited seating. Large windows in both the Piano Lounge and Billiards Room overlook the College grounds and gardens to the north and south. If booking both rooms, you might be interested in also booking use of the adjacent north terrace extending out to the grounds, with access through the Billiards Room (additional fees apply; please inquire). The Lower Patio is also available as a separate booking, and is a larger outdoor event venue space.
Washrooms are located on the same floor and in the Graham House basement. Access to internet is available through UBC’s wireless network.
For Piano Lounge, Billiards Room and other event venue rates, see Rates and Policies. For more information on Green College Dining Society catering options and rates (outside catering is not permitted), see Catering.
