Ideas & Friendship Over Coffee & Cookies
On September 19th, we had our first coffeehouse of the new academic year! We kicked things off in a huge way, with many new greenies bravely stepping up to the plate to show us their huge talent. The audience was jam-packed, and all of the coffee was gone before the intermission (to say nothing of the cookies).
The two heads of the Welcome Committee, Aimee and Daria, helped out as MC and stage manager, respectively. During the half-time, Aimee and Lorenzo did their own performance -- a GC parody of Aqua's "Barbie Girl."
The acts for the evening covered a wide range of moods and styles, including classical, jazz, pop, rap/hip-hop, a Hindu love song, and a hilarious comedy sketch by Anson. Congratulations to all of the performers who made the evening so memorable and thank you for sharing your passion with the community!
Here are some photos from the event (courtesy of photographer for the evening, Alicia), just in case you missed it.
The next coffeehouse is tentatively scheduled to take place sometime inlate November. Keep an eye for the sign-up list for performers, which will likely go out sometime in early November!
