Here are some photos from the Summer Coffeehouse, which took place back in June. Here you can see residents enjoying coffee & desserts and making music together in the Coach House. We had many different styles of music on offer, including a few sing along sections! A big thank you goes out to all of the performers who made the night possible, Alana for MCing, and the Kitchen Staff for providing food and drink! Thanks also to Girish, who took the photos!
The next coffeehouse is scheduled to take place on Wednesday, September 19th, 2012 in the Piano Lounge in partnership with the Green College Welcome Committee. An email will be sent out towards the end of August to advertise this event, and the sign-up sheet for performers will go up in early September. If you're new to Green College, this will be a great opportunity to show us your musical talent and to play for a live and enthusiastic audience!
In other news, the Instrument Petting Zoo took place earlier this month on August 2nd in the Piano Lounge. It was well attended and enjoyed by all. Some of the instruments that were on display included: piano, trumpet, flute, clarinet, ukelele, violin, trombone, and even a musical saw! The event proved to be quite popular, so watch out for a sequel sometime in the Fall!
Also be sure to check out the upcoming Arts Night which is happening on this Thursday (August 16th) in the Piano Lounge, where residents will be displaying their own visual art! For more information, get in touch with Anton Lee, who will be currating the event.
